Is it just me or is it so fun snooping through other people’s things? Personally, I am so intrigued by the things other people use and carry with them to stay organized, so, it didn’t surprise me when I started to receive multiple requests to do a “What’s in My Work Bag” post. I figured I’d take this opportunity to show off one of my work outfits too!

I’m so lucky to work in an office where we can pretty much wear whatever we want (within reason of course). Some days I wear cute dresses and sandals , while other days I wear jeans or a skirt and top. If you follow me on Instagram (which you ALL should be doing by the way!), then you’ve seen that I share my work outfit every single day on my Instagram Story! I save them to my “OOTD” highlight on my profile too, so you can go back and reference or see what you’ve missed. You all seem to love these posts and honestly it’s great because it keeps me from getting lazy with my outfits.
The Bag
Okay, so let’s talk about the bag. It. Is. The. Best. Bag. Ever. I’m not kidding. I had heard and read so many amazing things about the MZ Wallace totes and finally bit the bullet and got one a couple weeks ago. Typically I would have gone for a neutral color like black or navy, but I’m obsessed with this bright green! It makes me smile every time I see it, and it surprisingly goes with so many outfits. It just pulls it all together and gives it a pop! I love how lightweight the bag is, and it fits so much! Even better, the straps are kind of padded so you can fill it as much as you want without hurting your shoulders.
Want to know what really sealed the deal for me on this bag though? Yesterday morning I pulled up to work and put my stuff down at my desk only to find that my salad dressing had spilled out of the tupperware all over the inside of my tote. I panicked because the dressing was dark from the vinegar and didn’t want anything to get stained, but then I realized that the entire bag is completely liquid proof! I was able to soak up all the dressing with just a paper towel and didn’t leave a single trace. It was seriously like magic.
Now for what I carry with me on the daily. There are a few things I always carry with me when I’m using a tote:
Notebook: I just bought this notebook and love it so much. The paper is such a nice weight and I love that the lines don’t have margins so there is plenty of room to write everything. I like using this to jot down ideas I have for the blog throughout the day, things I need to remember to do, or just to write down anything important. I’ve learned through experience, if it’s not written down, it’s not going to happen (hi mom ;).
Pens: I’m so picky when it comes to my pens. I like fine, ball point pens in black ink, and then colored roller ball or felt tip pens. My favorite ball point pens ever are these and these. I know they’re not the prettiest, but they just write so well! For colored pens I love these and these.
Book: I carry a book with me for a couple reason. 1) If I eat lunch alone, I love squeezing in a few pages. 2) Sometimes I meet friends for dinner or a workout class on my way home from work, but with traffic it’s pretty hard to gauge my arrival time. Having a book gives me something to do in case I’m super early. I just started reading Crazy Rich Asians and so far think it’s great!
Phone Charger and AirPods: These two are pretty self-explanatory. I like I to carry a mobile charger as well as a regular wall plug because sometimes (aka most of the time) I forget to charge my mobile battery anyways. Also, if you don’t have AirPods yet, you’re not living. These headphones are such a game changer I don’t even know where to begin. (Maybe a full blog post review is in order?) Just trust me!
Lip Balm and Hand Lotion: I apply lip balm and hand lotion a billion times a day — I’m kind of a stickler about dry skin #sorrynotsorry. My favorite lip balm is Glossier Balm Dotcom and as for hand lotion I pretty much just carry whatever hand lotion I still have from the last hotel I stayed at. Ha! (anyone else do this!?)
I’ve really been thinking about investing in Air Pods because everyone that I know that has them absolutely raves about them-guess I’m going to have to add them to my Christmas wishlist for my husband!
