Like I said in my post earlier this week, I’m starting a new goal to do a monthly series where I recap all of my favorite things I tried or used a lot that month. Today’s post will give a little recap of January and will also give a little mini review for each of the items.
January Recap
January has been a pretty good month for me so far despite feeling a little bit homesick. I know what you’re all thinking—she lives so close to home and sees her family all the time—and I know that’s also true, but there’s a difference between stopping by home for an hour or so to pick something up and actually going home. As you all know I’m extremely close to my family, love nothing more than spending time with my dog, and live for having a solid routine. Living in my sorority is great and really fun, but it makes the routine thing a little bit hard and I sometimes get overwhelmed by not having my own space. I’m really excited because this weekend I’m going home for the whole weekend and I can’t wait to spend time with my parents, cook, maybe go to Soulcycle, and do normal life things that I can’t always do at school.
Favorites Reviews
No-Show Socks: I first discovered these socks from The Loft from Bridget of Being Bridget‘s Instagram Stories. She couldn’t stop raving about them and I was in need of new socks, so I placed an order. Let me just tell you these socks are no joke. They’re so comfy, they don’t slip at all, and they come in so many different fun colors and patterns—and they really don’t show. They’re currently buy one get one 50% off too!
Patchology Breakout Box: I picked up one of these boxes from Nordstrom over Christmas break mostly because I needed a new set of pimple patches and I couldn’t find any of those just sold by themselves. I had never used any products from Patchology and I was impressed with their pimple patches, but what amazed me even more were the black-head nose strips. Guys, these nose strips are incredible. I threw one on on a whim one weekend not really expecting much and I was in shock. It got rid of all of my blackheads and left the skin on my nose glowing. This brand is no joke!
Yeti Tumblr: I feel like one of the last people to jump on the Yeti bandwagon, but let me just tell you they’re totally worth the hype. I received mine as a gift from my mom for Christmas and I think I’ve used it almost everyday since. I love putting my tea in it in the morning before class/work, or even just filling it with water to make sure I stay hydrated through out the day. It keeps my tea not just warm, but HOT, for hours on end.
Grande Lash: I talked about this a little bit in one of my gift guides, but this product is absolutely life changing if you love long lashes, but are wary about getting extensions. The other day my mom even said it looked like I got lash extensions. I use it every night before I go to bed my lashes are crazy long now. I started to notice results after about 3 weeks, but now the change is undeniable.
OV TechSweat: Y’all know by know that I love Outdoor Voices, but recently I fell in love with one of their fabrics that I Initially didn’t love. TechSweat is their high-performance material made for sweaty activities like spin and hot yoga (my two preferred workouts). It’s so light and stretchy it practically feels like you’re wearing nothing at all. The feeling is so amazing.
Nars Climax Mascara: I have to say this may be one of the best mascaras I’ve ever tried. It’s lengthening and volumizing without being clumpy or dry and the fluffy brush makes sure to coat every single lash. I like to top this mascara off with a little Glossier Lash Slick to make my lashes look a little bit wispy.
Biossance Omega Repair Cream: I have yet to talk about this online, but my dermatologist recently put me on Accutane to get rid of my acne once and for all. As a result my skin has become extremely dry and this winter weather has not helped. A couple weeks into my treatment I went to my local Sephora and spoke to a specialist who recommended I try this cream and I think it singlehandedly saved my skin. Now I’m dying to try this oil that I’ve heard rave reviews about. I’m thinking about doing a full skincare/Accutane update on the blog, so if that’s something you’d be interested in leave a comment below!
Gucci Ace Sneakers: By far my most exciting purchase of January was my Gucci sneakers. Although they’re not that unique anymore (I feel like everyone and their mother owns a pair now), I just couldn’t get this beautiful floral pair out of my head. I saved up my Christmas money and some of my shopping budget for the month and finally bit the bullet. I couldn’t find them anywhere online in stock, but luckily one of the Gucci stores in LA had them in stock in my size. I just love how fun and unique they are—they really spice up my more simple outfits!

Those sneakers are SO cute-love the floral detailing! And I’ve been a huge YETI fan for years now, we have several of their tumblers and coolers in our house and they get used very often. I love the pink color you have!
