While we’ve been enduring some very dreary, rainy weather in California the past couple of months, as March approaches, I’m starting to get excited for slightly warmer temperatures and sunnier weather on the horizon! In the last year or so, I’ve noticed a lot of holes in my wardrobe that need filling, and I’ve been tracking them and slowly but surely working to fill in the gaps. Of course, there are always things that make their way onto my wishlist that I simply do not need at all but just want because I know they will bring me joy!
So, without further ado… here are *some* of the pieces on my wishlist for Spring! Scroll down for the details.
Swim
At the end of last summer, I said enough was enough with my swimwear and got rid of almost every swimsuit and coverup I owned. Most of the pieces were 4-5 years old, and I had worn them to death. I just knew it was time to start fresh. I’ve had my eye on this adorable eyelet coverup since last summer, and (if I don’t get it for my birthday next week, hint hint…) I am about ready to pull the trigger. I think it is such a classic piece that will last me a long time, and I love that it’s still neutral and will go with pretty much any suit. I’ve also had my eyes on this swimsuit brand for a while after hearing so many great things about it. They’re a little more than I typically spend on swimwear, but from what I’ve heard, they are worth the investment and last a long time. I also love that they’re one size and stretch, depending on your body. I think this white one-piece would be so fun for bridal events and my honeymoon coming up, but I also love a classic black bikini.
Easy Dresses
During the spring, I love to be able to wear dresses that are easy to throw on and go. Whether I’m running errands, going to lunch, or shopping, a dress to me is just so easy. If it’s chilly out, I just throw a sweater over my shoulders and I’m good to go! You can’t go wrong with a white linen dress, and I just love the classic cut of this one. I could see this styled on vacation with bright-colored accessories, or out and about around Newport with a navy and white sweater and flat sandals. I’ve also been eyeing this blue and white dress since last year! In fact, I actually almost bought it to bring on our Europe trip last year when I got engaged! I feel like it would be a great piece to wear out to lunch with friends, to a baby shower, you name it! I stumbled across this dress when I was browsing J.Crew’s new arrivals and it may or may not already be on it’s way to me! I just feel like it’s a great transitional piece that you can dress up or down and throughout the seasons.
Shoes and Accessories
Does any girl ever think they have enough shoes? I don’t think so… My shoe wishlist is always growing, but lately I haven’t been able to stop thinking about these chocolate brown ballet flats (I think they’re a nice alternative to a black flat). When I say this dress from above, I immediately envisioned it with a chocolate brown flat and this one hits every mark for me. I’m not normally a brown girl, but there’s something about these I just can’t get out of my head. I also love that I can tuck in the elastic strap depending on my mood… I also have my eyes on these ruffle sandals that would be so cute for spring and summer! I’m picturing them with a fun sundress, white jeans and a colorful top, and so much more. The ruffle detail is just so cute. My Instagram feed has also been inundated with cute velvet mary janes everywhere I look and now I’m dying for a pair. I love this navy blue pair and they’re a pretty great price if you ask me. I feel like they would go with so much! I want to add a small wicker or raffia bag to my collection that is on the dressier side for fun dinners out and events. The pearl detail on this clutch is so pretty, but I also adore the big bow on this one! You know, I love a good bow. but the latter is definitely on the small side. I don’t think it would fit more than my phone and maybe a lip gloss. Which one do you like more? Last but not least, I love a fun baseball hat and when I saw this one I stopped in my tracks. The butter yellow color is so cute and the Brentwood Country Mart is my favorite spot in LA! I think I need it, right?
Layers
Finally, we have layers. One of the keys to dressing for the weather in Newport is layering! During the winter and into spring, it can be so cold in the morning, but it totally warms up in the afternoon. Then the temperatures drop again as soon as sunset hits. I’m always cold so having some kind of sweater or jacket with me is crucial. I just ordered this navy cable knit sweater that’s under $50 right now and I am so excited because I know I’ll get a ton of use out of it. I love that it’s more of a cropped length too because I find that easier to wear over dresses and skirts and hits me at a more flattering point with pants too. This striped sweater has been on my wishlist for years and years and I’ve always resisted it, but recently I’ve been growing more and more motivated to finally pull the trigger. I’m such a stripe girl and it doesn’t get more classic than this one! I can’t decide between the full length or the cropped one, though. If you have one or have an opinion, let me know!
Anyways, that’s all from me for now! You can always keep up with what’s on my wishlist here.
Talk soon,
