I’d like to start off this post by apologizing for the amount of pictures I’ve included. I just really couldn’t narrow it down! There was so much from my trip that I wanted to share with you guys. So, here goes nothing!
I arrived into Milwaukee on Thursday afternoon and almost died when I was reunited with Caroline at the airport. (But actually the collision from our our hug could’ve killed someone.) When I finally got my stuff loaded into her car, we drove into Downtown and had lunch at the Public Market in the Third Ward. After that we walked around and popped into Anthropologie and the cutest paper store called Broadway Paper. I felt like I was falling more and more in love with each step! The picture above was taken on the rooftop of The Kimpton Hotel there in Downtown where we indulged in the most amazing S’mores Push Pops (You may have seen them on my snapchat! You can add me on there as Preptista!)
After downtown, Caroline drove me all around showing me everything and it was all so pretty! I loved all the trees and how clear the sky was! For dinner, we met up with Caroline’s mom and brother and went to the cutest little Mexican Cafe for fajitas. When we got home from dinner, Caroline, Chuck, and I hung out at home for a bit before going to get frozen custard at this cool place called Kopp’s and I got to meet some of Caroline’s friends.
The next morning, Caroline and I were off for our next adventure and accidentally coordinated our navy and white outfits! (Does that ever happen to you and your friends?)
After we took outfit photos, we stopped for brunch at this adorable restaurant called Wooden Goose. We wanted to eat kinda light in anticipation of the other food we would eat that day, so we both opted for eggs and toast with a side of fruit.
Our next stop was Cedarburg, which was so so cute. I especially loved this patriotic and inviting doorstep!
My favorite part of Cedarburg though? The Caramel Apples we got from this cute place called Amy’s! Talk about mouth watering. They were absolutely delicious and since they were so big we got to enjoy them for a couple days!
I loved all of the hydrangeas we saw all over Milwaukee. They were in full bloom everywhere!
While in Cedarburg, we also stopped into this adorable paper store called the Paperie. It was like heaven on earth. I picked up this Emily Ley planner and these paper clips!
At the end of the day, I got to meet some more of Caroline’s friends at the Bastille Day festival in Downtown! We had crepes, beignets, and cheese curds – not healthy, but certainly delicious!
On Saturday Caroline and I went to the cutest Preppy store in Whitefish Bay. I wanted everything. I’m not exaggerating. I ended up getting the prettiest romper, which you’ll see on the blog next week!
More of the hydrangeas!
Saturday night, Fran was finally home from Martha’s Vineyard so we picked her up to go to dinner at one of their favorite Downtown spots called Cafe Hollander. We had cheese curds again (#sorrynotsorry) and I had a super yummy turkey wrap!
Look at those cheese curds though.
Sunday was when the real fun began because it was our first full day with Fran and we started our morning off with a photo shoot before having the best pancakes ever (see below) for brunch! We coordinated our outfits and even though we were joking about how bad it was, I know we all secretly liked it.
Caroline and Fran had wanted to take me to a “cuter brunch spot,” but I told them I wanted the real experience of pst doing what they would normally do if I wasn’t there. So, we went to this place called The Original Pancake House, which was to. die. for. Seriously the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I got banana while Caroline and Fran both got blueberry.
The rest of Saturday was spent tagging along to one of Fran’s friends’s graduation party and then working on blog stuff all night together!
Monday, my last day, we slept in and then decided to make a healthy breakfast to balance out all the bad food we ate on Saturday. You can read about our breakfast in yesterday’s post!
How hysterical is do we look in our matching topknots and “preppy homeless” attire!?
Couldn’t leave Wisconsin without taking a cheesehead picture. Some man in the airport was nice enough to snap this pic!
When Caroline and Fran dropped me off at the airport, to say I was upset is the understatement of the century. All three of us cried and probably hugged goodbye ten times. My heart was aching the whole flight home and I still miss them so much! I’m already thinking of when I get to see them next!
This little trip was the perfect break I needed. I got to have fun with my two best friends and have a mini “blogging retreat” too!
