Earlier this year I bought a Fitbit Flex because I decided I wanted to start getting healthier. Since posting about it, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions from readers about whether or not I like it and why. Now I know I probably sound like an infomercial, but I can honestly tell you all that the Fitbit is one of the best $100 I’ve ever spent. A Fitbit may not be right for everyone, but here are some of the reasons why I love it:
It tracks all your motion. I’m the type of person who is motivated by seeing high number, so for me tracking my steps is crucial for any sort of exercise aid. With the app on your phone that syncs to your Fitbit, you can see every step you take and even set goals for yourself to reach a certain amount of steps each day.
It tracks your sleep. You know when you find something you never even knew you needed? That’s how I feel about the sleep tracking feature. At first I thought tracking my sleep was somewhat odd and made me uncomfortable… I didn’t think I really needed to know how much I slept and when I was or wasn’t awake in the night. This feature is so fascinating, though! You’d be amazed to see how many hours of sleep you actually get in contrast to what you think you are getting!
You can track your food and water intake. With the app, you can sync your food and water intake with your daily exercise to see how many calories you are putting in and sending out of your body. This especially helps if you are trying to lose weight because you can see clear as day how your eating habits may be keeping you from your goals.
It wakes you up. I wear my Fitbit pretty much 24/7. I sleep, eat, work out, and shower in it. Part of what I love is that you can set different alarms from your iPhone to sync with your Fitbit so that it will wake you up in the morning! When the alarm goes off, your Fitbit vibrates, which is surprisingly a really calming way to wake up.
It’s comfortable. The other key factor is that it’s extremely comfortable. Honestly, I hardly ever notice I’m wearing it! It’s super lightweight, and it’s flexible, so it never hurts.
Its stylish. For someone like me, it’s all about the aesthetics. The Fitbit comes in an array of colors, but the best part is you can buy different colored wristbands to switch them out! They even have an awesome collaboration with Tory Burch offering bracelets and a cool necklace option!
Why I Chose The Flex: There are many different Fitbit products to satisfy a variety of needs. I ended up settling on the Fitbit Flex because I didn’t need any additional “fancy” features. I didn’t need a clock feature, or a heart beat tracker, so the flex seemed perfect for me! It had every feature I wanted and then some.
