The struggle to find the perfect everyday bag is real. For me, the perfect everyday bag is easily transportable and compact, fits all my essentials, and is neutral in color. I searched high and low for the perfect bag, settling on a couple different ones over the years that worked but didnt completely fit the bill. Then, I found this bag. I talked about the bag a little bit in last weeks Hellooo Weekend post, but I wanted the chance to go into a little bit more detail about why the Gucci Disco Bag, is the perfect everyday bag.
So, let me give you a little overview. The bag is made of amazing pebbled leather that is soft to the touch, but still sturdy. The long crossbody strap is adjustable, which makes it great for people of every height. My favorite part of the bag is the statement tassel that hangs from the zipper. The hardware on it is gold and shiny, but somehow also understated. The inside of the bag is lined with a tan canvas-like fabric with two pockets that are each big enough for business cards, chapstick, cash and credit cards, or spare change.
Now, let’s get to what I keep in my bag! These photos are of what I actually had in my bag right before I took the photos. I’m usually pretty neat when it comes to my purse, but I actually had 2 receipts and a gum wrapper in here that I took out a couple days before I decided to shoot this post. Part of why I love that the bag is compact is that it allows me to carry my absolute essentials, but it limits me from lugging around things I don’t actually need. With the contents pictured above in my bag, there was still plenty of room for me to carry a fuller sized wallet if need be, a small journal (which I did while traveling over spring break), or even a small water bottle while on the go.
These are the essentials I try to keep with me at. all. times. I’ve had that little Louis Vuitton Wallet Keychain for almost three years now and let me just tell you it is some of the best money I have ever spent. It has seriously withstood the wear and tear of very day use aside from the plating on the loop and chain scratching off a bit. It’s the best because it’s so convenient to be able to just grab it and go without even thinking when I’m running a quick errand and don’t even need my full purse. I like to keep a lipstick in there for emergencies, but Glossier Bomb Dot Com in Cherry is my go-to when I’m out during the day because it keeps my lips hydrated while also giving them a little tint of color. The Indie Lee Blemish Stick is a new find of mine, but is great to have with me for emergency when I can feel a blemish coming on. It’s clear so I can dab it on the spot without ruining my makeup or anything. I’ve only been using it for a few days, and I can already see a difference! I try and always carry some business cards with me, but I’ll admit I’m not always perfect at it. Carrying sunglasses with me is never an option — it’s a necessity. As most of you know already, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of sunglasses over the years, but this is my most recent pair and quite possibly even my favorite — I’m obsessed with them. They have a fun twist with the gold hardware, but the tortoise shell frame keeps them classic.
