While I typically maintain a rather low-maintenance makeup routine year-round, during the summer, it’s even more pared down. Most days, if I’m even wearing makeup, I just throw on some Supergoop! Glowscreen, curl my lashes and top it with some mascara. However, when I need to have a more “done” look but still don’t want to feel heavy makeup caked on my skin, I’ve come up with a routine that looks and feels amazing!
Special shoutout to my current favorite makeup bag from Amazon! It holds so much and I love that it opens up flat. It makes it so easy to find my products!
Skin:
Generally speaking, I don’t like to ever have anything that feels too heavy on my skin. When I’m craving coverage for a special occasion, I rely on the It Cosmetics CC Cream or my Westman Atelier Foundation Drops. Lately, I’ve been leaning towards more of a glowy complexion more than coverage, and I’ve been using the Westman Atelier Liquid Super Loaded in Peau de Soleil all over my face as a base. Then, I’ve been loving the Kosas concealer to brighten under my eyes and cover up any spots. It blends so naturally into my skin and never feels too cakey. Both Westman products definitely give you a dewy/glowy look, so if you’re interested in something more matte, then they’re probably not for you.
Contour/Cheeks:
I don’t always do contour on my face unless I’m getting ready for something special like an event or date night, but when I do, my go-to is the Westman Atelier Contour Stick in the shade Biscuit. It’s a tried and true product that I’ve used for years, and while it’s expensive, the stick will last you super long. My go-to bronzer is the Chanel Les Beiges Bronzer. I’ve seen some people use this for contour, but I prefer to use it as an all-over bronzer to give that perfect sun-kissed glow. When it comes to blush, another tried-and-true is the Westman Atelier Blush Stick in Petal. I love the rosy color it adds to my cheeks! For special occasions, I’ll add a light layer of this Dior blush on top for an extra pop!
Eyes:
One of my number one favorite beauty tools is an eyelash curler. It’s definitely a desert island item for me. My favorite of all time is the legendary Shu Uemura curler, but I’ve been using and loving the Utowa one for years now. Another trusty favorite of mine is the Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara. I have pretty long lashes thanks to using Grande Lash for years, but I love how this mascara just accentuates their length without making them look clumpy or heavy. I love a light and fluffy lash look! I’m pretty bad with eyeshadow, so I don’t use it often and don’t really like a heavy shadow look, but when I want to add something to my lids, I always reach for my Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Shadow duo in Golden Peach. It was discontinued recently, though, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I run out!
Lips:
I shared my favorite lip combo on my Instagram not too long ago, and I’ve still been loving it! You can watch the tutorial here, but I line my lips with this Charlotte Tilbury Liner, add on some of this Chanel Lipstick in Pink Delight, and then top it all off with Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for a glossy finish. It’s the perfect neutral pink lip!
And that’s it! Any makeup products you’ve been loving lately that I need to try? Let me know!
